Chris Moorman took a break from the 2019 World Series of Poker (WSOP) to compete in a $350,000 guaranteed event at the Wynn Poker Classic and the 888poker ambassador went on to win the tournament for $107,590.

A field of 354 participated in the $1,600 buy-in event, creating a $518,503 prize pool as a result. All nine players who reached the final table banked five-figures with Romuald Pycior being the first casualty, securing $11,200.

Jack Sinclair, winner of the 2018 WSOP Europe Main Event, busted in eighth-place for $13,326 before five-time WSOP Circuit ring winner Kurt Jewell ran out of steam in seventh-place for a $16,074 addition to his bankroll.
Newcastle’s Alex Whitenstall crashed out in sixth-place for $20,014 to add to his trio of 2019 WSOP cashes, then Joe Clapper fell by the wayside in fifth-place for a $25,873 score. Clapper was joined at the cashier’s desk by France’s Eric Sfez who collected $35,129 for his fourth-place exit.
The penultimate elimination was that of Mike Gao who won $50,139 and set up a one-on-one battle between Moorman and Even Teitelbaum. Teitelbaum won a $1,600 event at the Wynn in June for $138,209 but had to make do with an $85,000 consolation prize in this event after a heads-up deal with Moorman.

When Moorman won Teitelbaum’s stack, the popular Brit added $107,590 to his lifetime winnings, taking his total live poker tournament cashes to $5,867,727.
Whether Moorman returns to the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino for the remaining handful of WSOP events in an attempt to secure another bracelet remains to be seen. If he does, he’ll be heading there with an extra six-figures in his arsenal.
